Approaching 8 Weeks!!!
Gia will be going for her 2 month check here very soon. Shot time! So not looking forward to that. I told Sal he is taking front and center for that because I know I will be a mess when little one gets her shots. Gia is so so alert, everyone who sees her can't believe how alert and awake she always is. LOL!! Yes, and it keeps mommy up at night very very often! My mom said I was exactly the same way, did not want to miss out on anything LOL! Gia is focusing more and her little smiles are melting our hearts. I am trying to get her in a sleeping pattern, which is a slow process but it seems to be working. She is still eating very well, God bless her. Gia also makes all sorts of weird sounds, almost like animals on a farm, especially a goat. She grunts and grunts, yet another thing I used to do as a baby. Chip off the old block my daughter is, even though she looks just like her Daddy. My mom said we should have named her Sally LOL!! I bought some gripe water and gas drops which seems to be helping with her fussiness because she can certainly get fussy... hence why we call her Miss Fussy Tussy. My mom said my grandma used to call me a little "imp" so Gia has earned that name as well. I know my grandparents are looking down on Gia and seeing all that is going on with her. Grandpa "Pa" New York is coming too today for a visit!! YAY!!

Approaching 7th week!
Gia is getting so much more alert! Besides not wanting to be away from her and staring at her all the time another favorite thing to do with my love is tummy time. It is so much fun to see her lift her little head and stare at herself in the mirror. It is just precious. She is also focusing on objects a little bit more now. Gia grabs for things all the time with that strong grip of hers. Daddy Sal said she slapped him across the face the other day LOL!! Those little hands and arms go nuts! She is eating very well and is plumping up nicely! I love the way Gia grabs my hand when she is eating, she always seems to have to touch her mommy when I am near her. I love it!!! Recently a friend was holding Gia and I was standing next to them and my friend said Gia was looking for me. God, I love my little one sooooooo much!!! I can't even express how much, it would be so impossible. She actually smacks her lips when she is done with drinking the bottle, her little personality is really starting to show. We have been going out more as well which breaks up our day. I can't wait to put her in the baby carrier I bought. I needed to buy the infant insert for it which I just received so we are all ready to rock and roll! All is going great at Casa Mastropolo with our baby Gia girl! Will post another video soon!!

Best buds together again!
Melissa and Presley came over today and we had so much fun catching up and trading our stories! I am so in love with baby Presley, she is now a little over 11 pounds and such a good little baby girl! It was so cute seeing Gia and Presley together! We both said how cool it is going to be with them growing up together as best buds! We love you Melissa and Presley!! xox
Our baby love is 6 weeks today!
Gia can now smile back at us, which we have been seeing for the past couple of days. She loves to focus on the ceiling fan too, it is hysterical! We would guess she is close to 8 lbs at this point as well, boy can she eat- God bless her! She does all these crazy most adorable faces and we can't help but laugh and the noises!! OMG- the noises, everything from a quasi-horse sound to a PTERODACTYL! LOL! Gia loves to move her arms all around like she is "vogueing" and kick those little legs of hers too. It is the best to watch, we can watch her for hours. I love it when I am feeding her and those big eyes are staring back at me. In about 2 weeks, I read, her eyes will really be able to focus. My mom always tells me a lot of what Gia does I did as well, especially how alert she is and the little bit of attitude already! That's right my baby girl, strong willed like your mommy!! Oh, Daddy Sal is in for it LOL!
I had my 6 week check today, everything went well. We talked about birth control which I am going back on because we do not need another bambina/bambino right now LOL! We would like to wait until at least next May to start trying again!! I found out how much I actually gained in this pregnancy and it was 48 lbs LOL! I am all healed up and can resume pretty much anything and everything now. :)

Gia's Godparents are....
Sal and I asked my cousin Gina and her husband Jeff to be Gia's Godparents. We knew we wanted them to be an important part of Gia's life and knew we wanted them to be her Godparents even before she was born! Gina is like the sister I never had. We asked them this past Sunday and they said they would be honored! So, now we are working on when Gia's christening will be, most likely looks like September or October... we will see! We love you so much Gina and Jeff and could not think of two better people to have this important role in Gia's life! xoxoxoxoxoo
Gia is 5 WEEKS!!
Gia is doing wonderful! I am pretty sure she is close to 7 lbs now she feels so plump now!! She is so attentive to sounds now and it just melts our hearts when she stares at us with those huge eyes!! She is eating like a champ still, which is awesome. At night, I now keep the room dark and quiet, even change and feed her with minimal light and it seems to be helping her. We used to watch TV at night which prolonged her going to sleep and relaxing, so all the good advice I was given seems to be working. Gia also has found her thumb!! LOL, sometimes she will put it in her mouth and suck a bit, but for now she loves her "dookie dookie!" We just can't stop kissing her, those cheeks, little hands/fingers, and those little toes!! We are having such a blast with her, she is the best gift from God ever. We love you our little monkey!! xoxox
Next Wednesday I have my 6 week postpartum check up...can't believe it will be 6 weeks!! Time is moving on by!

Happy 1 month Gia!!
It is so hard to believe that yesterday 5/31/11 was my actual due date and our little love has been here 1 month already!! There have been so many changes we have noticed. Gia follows us with her eyes and she is super attentive to light, colors, and shapes we hold in front of her. She has also plumped up too!! There is a definite difference in her weight which is awesome!! She is now filling out her little outfits very nicely. Gia has some grip!! People are commenting on how strong she already is for her size.. yes Gia, that is mommy's girl!!! She loves to put her arms up and raise those hands in the air, my mom said I used to do the same thing! In fact, my hospital baby picture has me doing that!! Her faces crack me up especially after the she is done eating, that "milk drunk" look is hysterical!! I also mimic the faces she makes back at her and have a ball doing it. I actually laugh at loud all the time, even at 4 am!! She still wakes me every 2 hours to eat at night, it has not been easy. This morning she actually slept from 2:45 am until 5:30 am which was a nice stretch and what a difference it made with me with that little bit more time of shut eye!! We noticed yesterday her little belly button was protruding more than normal. So, I called the Dr. and they said it was nothing to worry about and very common as long as the area is not discolored, her belly button is not hard, and she does not get upset when it is touched. None of that happened thank God. It is called an umbilical hernia which makes the belly button look like an protruding outie. It can occur from birth, straining, crying etc. So, we will keep an eye on it and it will go away in time, but again it is nothing to worry about the Dr. said, so we were relieved. All in all, Gia is doing great she is just so precious and there are no words to describe the amount of love we have for her. WE just keep kissing that little face, those hands and feetsies!! Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back little one!!
