The new addition to the Mastropolo family.. Little Chief Mastropolo... Little Chief is not a Russian hamster he is a Djungarian hamster.... he is hysterical and so so cute.. he is bigger than Little Keefe...and our girl is very very happy! 

RIP Little Keefe 5/16-8/17

Little Keefe.. Gia's Russian hamster passed away tonight.. she came running down the stairs to tell me he was not moving.. so I went up and yes.. little sweet Keefe passed... Russian hamsters live only about 2 years in the wild. Gia got him for her 5th birthday..he may have been a few months old... lately Sal and I saw changes in him... slower... poor thing went blind.. he always kept his eyes shut and just was not his normal little fur ball self..Jeej was so upset.. it was "her own" first pet. Gia was so responsible with Little Keefe... she helped clean the cage and her and Sal would order the supplies needed for him off the net.. Honestly, Little Keefe was living in a cage equivalent to the Four Seasons Hotel LOL... Gia and I  had a long talk about the whole thing and God bless her she understands about Heaven because of when we lost Bosco...  I wrapped him up and buried him in the backyard surrounded by a circle of rocks and a cross... Gia made this special rock to go on top... the rock is from our backyard and just happens to be in the shape of a heart... Tomorrow, it looks like it is back to Petco to get another hamster... maybe another Russian or a bigger one.. we will see.. whatever Gia wants. We loved you Little Keefe.. now you can play with Sonny, Igby, and Bosco.. run free little one... run free...

Our little first grader!!!

Our little sweet Jeej started 1st grade today... new backpack, lunchbag, and all new school clothes...Gigi picked this pink dress that Nana NY bought her... she was so so excited listening to the voice mails and texts wishing her a great year in First grade! This one is Miss Little Independent... like she does not miss a beat... Gia helped another first grader who was crying like she is an old pro at school LOL!! Honestly, it is hard to believe First grade already... she will continue with the Mandarin program so half of her day is in Mandarin and the other half is English like last year... in fact, pretty much her whole class from last year traveled together to First grade...Her Mandarin teacher is so sweet, she has been in the country 2 years and her other teacher.. hails from NEW JERSEY! John could not wait to see Virginia the crossing guard.. he literally ran up and gave her the biggest hug...and then of course he was excited to see his big sister.. went right up to her and hugged and kissed her and of course me, the sap.... haha... We love you so much baby girl.. you are going to have a magnificent year in First grade!! We can't wait to see what is in store for you this year and be a part of it with you! XOXOXO
