Gia is about the size of a pot roast this week! She weighs about 2 pounds and is about 12-15 inches long from head to heel. Gia's little tiny eyelids are starting to open and she can see light and shadows! Gia can also hear our voices. I have been talking to little one ever since I found out I was pregnant, but now she can really hear, so Daddy Sal needs to get talking to Gia now. Her taste buds are developing more and more as well. Gia has been movin' and shakin all the time...hmmm sounds like her mommy LOL!
As for me, edema which is swelling can start to occur. Drinking water and staying active helps even though sometimes I feel like Godzilla when I am walking! I feel really good though. I am noticing I can't bend much anymore and tying my shoes is starting to get more difficult. Gia seems to be positioned high as well when I am sitting in certain positions. Sometimes, I feel like she is going to come out of my mouth LOL! One thing I can't get enough of is her moving, it is so amazing!
Next week I am officially in my 3rd trimester. I have my next OB appt. on Monday which will be a 3D/4D ultasound and we will be able to see Gia's face fully developed, I have a glucose test and a regular OB Dr. appt. all in one day. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to see you Gia!! I can't believe it is 13 weeks until the due date... it is absolutely going so fast!
