Look who asks to play piano every night...

I wonder if little one here will take after her mommy! I started taking piano lessons when I was 7 years old and did so for 10 years.. The piano I have is very special. My piano teacher Steve was such a gem, a real angel.. He was like another grandfather to me. My Dad and I would pick him up at our town circle area in Rutherford after school and then we would go back to our house.  My parents had bought me a piano at the time to start taking my lessons with. Anyway, we would get back to the house and Dad and Steve would have a cup of coffee and some cookies and shoot the you know what haha.. Then it came time for my lesson which was one hour.. after the lesson  Dad would drive him back into town so he could take the bus back to Jersey City. Taking these lesson were some of the most memorable years of my life.

When Steve passed away, my parents and I went to his funeral in Jersey City, I remember my mom put in his casket a school picture of me so he would never be alone..(Steve did not really have any family.. his piano students were his family) .. My parents and I received a phone call at our house about Steve's Will and we were told that Steve had left me his  personal Baby Grand piano and that is the one I have... it is not even in production anymore.. It is PRICELESS to me.. for the years I was in college and going here and there all over the place after college, my parents always had the piano in their house in Jersey and then AZ.. when Sal and I got our house.. the piano finally found it's home... To see Gia hit the keys and be so inquisitive about it... brings me to tears because that is exactly how I took an interest.. will it last? who knows, but when she gets a little older you can bet I will see if she wants to take lessons on this most special piano.
