The ADL's Torch of Liberty Awards dinner 2013

The Assistant Director of the Anti-Defamation League Phx Chapter invited me and a guest to attend the Torch of Liberty Dinner last night. I am so so proud to be a little part of the ADL with what I do at my school with our No Place For Hate movement. Sal and I had the best time and truly learned all the important facets and philosophy of what the ADL really stands for. The honorees of the awards given last night were just so impressive and admirable. It was truly a very special night to be a part of.

2013 Torch of Liberty Award Dinner

ADL100.  Just six characters say so very much.  For 100 years, the ADL has touched lives of people all over the world.  ADL not only responds to acts of bigotry, discrimination or hate, but proactively forges a better future through anti-bias programs in schools throughout the country.  ADL builds bridges of understanding and respect among diverse groups, with the ultimate goal to put an end to unjust and unfair treatment for all. Here in Arizona, we have indeed touched the lives of many.  And behind every life we touch, there’s a story…
The Anti-Defamation League’s Torch of Liberty Award was established over 40 years ago to recognize individuals who have exhibited extraordinary humanitarian concerns and whose everyday actions exemplify the principles on which the ADL was founded—diversity, civil harmony, social justice and respect for human dignity.
