Bosco

I finally have  a little strength to do this post...On Sunday February 26th we lost our beloved Bosco... he had a sarcoma hemangioma.. a rapid cancer that causes internal bleeding. We were bringing him to the vet Monday because he took a horrid turn for the worst. Sal stayed up with Bosco until 5:45am Sunday morning and then went to bed. I came downstairs with Gia at 9:30 am and found our boy peacefully in our downstairs bathroom.. I can't put into words what I felt besides numb. Our vet opened his office Sunday just so we could take him down.. Sal and I said our final goodbye to our boy.. explaining it to Gia was oh so hard.. the crying... John kept calling out for him and Bella was not right either.

Bosco, it's been 1 week and 1 day and the pain of losing you so suddenly turned all of us upside down. You were taken too soon and so suddenly. It all makes sense now what happened and we in a weird way, are glad it happened so quickly. There is not a day that goes by we don't miss you and your presence.. the house is just not the same. I think I am hearing your collar, your snorting and sopping up water.. we are all taking it day by day... we know you are playing with your brothers up in heaven.. and one day we will be together again.. that is for sure.

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing,
they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and hug him.
He licks and kisses your face again and again -
and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.
