AND THE NAME IS.......

I had this picture hanging up on Sal's vitamin cabinet since last week when we found out we were having a son. I really wanted to get going on the name thing this weekend and that is exactly what we did last night. So, to surprise Sal this morning, I filled in the sign haha... because as of last night we had narrowed it down to 2 names but I still was not sure.. Sal was.... guess I needed to sleep on it!!

Yes, above is the name of our soon to be son!! Sal loved the name John and it means "God is gracious" and that is exactly what Gia means too!!! 

John is, as my friend..... Tami  and cousin Gina...put it.... STRONG, HEARTY, AND TIMELESS!! AGREED!! Let's not forget John the Baptist too!! 

Sal really liked the name JOHN after reading about WWII hero John Basilone an Italian American from New Jersey. Sal read his story and it is very gripping on what this hero did for our country. When we found out we were having a boy, Sal had it in his head that he wanted to name our son after a WWII Medal of Honor recipient. We combed through the list and to Sal... John Basilone was the one...handsome fellow huh?

The reasoning behind the middle name CARMINE is because my dad and Sal's dad both have the first name of Carmine. So, baby John's middle name is in honor of them. 

Dad .. Carmine and Dad M.... Carmine!! 

So, our little baby boy FINALLY has a name and we both love it and LOVE YOU our baby JOHN CARMINE MASTROPOLO who constantly has been hiccuping in mommy's belly!!! LOL!!!
