Sal and I were asked to participate in the Honor Walk again this year. It was an early start getting up at 5am on the weekend, but so worth it! We got to meet extraordinary veterans and it is truly a blessing and gift to do so. It is always a very moving and emotional event. To meet these heroes and be able to hear their stories and then share with my students is just priceless...certainly a day to remember that we will hold near and dear to our hearts.. and yes we made channel 15 news again when they went live at about 6:45 am...and I got to ride on a Harley!!

This was hysterical.. I have never been on a Harley.. this was a Vietnam vet who approached me and said "Hey little lady can I borrow your body to fly my flags? What can I say to that? It was awesome, got on the back and we rode and flew his flags... he was about 6ft7" by the way... total biker and gentle giant!! AWESOME!!! |
