Ending 2016-2017 school year!

1st day of Kindergarten 8/2016

Last day of Kindergarten 5/2017

Whew!! This year went fast... our little Kindergarten graduate... so so proud of her! She did so amazing this year in her regular and Mandarin Immersion. Off to First grade soon enough our love.

Graduation lunch

This was a bittersweet goodbye or as my students say..."See you later.." Very very emotional this year to send off my baby birds out of my nest to fly on their own. I can't describe the feeling the last day. The tears were streaming... everyone was hugging not wanting to let go and kept looking back to their second home, our home, our classroom, as they walked away for the final time as an 8th grader. The bond that was formed this year will last forever, again hard to put into words.. I cherish all my years.. but something was extra special about this one..

My friend Suzie... makes these little fairy homes out of pine cones.. she made one for Gia and picked out a fairy that looks just like her.. they are just beautiful and she sells them...

Time for Summer to begin... late nights, homemade snow cones, BBQ's, living in the pool, Odysea... good times are coming..

Birthday Mani and Pedi for Gigi!

With Lexi who we have known since Gia was a baby!
Yup! A first of many many many!!

Randoms and Skyping with China

Gia's school was the first to ever Skype to China as part of the Mandarin Immersion Program she is in... it was so amazing to watch.. it was for k-2... It was early morning in China and it was a middle school class whose teacher was at Desert Sage last year and moved back to China. The kinder's sang a song and asked questions and answered questions as well. Gia asked if anyone has a hamster LOL .. the Chinese students asked if they knew who Justin Bieber was.. the highlight was singing the National Anthem for them and they singing their's for us... this is the first of many Skype nights to come!

Happy Birthday to our Princess!! #6

Gia, I remember the day we knew we were having a girl and the day you were born like yesterday... There are no words to even come near how much we love you. You have grown into a beautiful young little girl. Smart, independent, hysterical, and driven in all you do. You light up a room with that smile, those huge eyes and that face. You are such a mini me it is unreal... God has gifted us with you which is more than priceless. Happy 6th birthday to our baby love first born.. There is no level of love that can be measured with you... WE LOVE YOU our little Ma, our Grey Garden's .. 85 year old soul princess!
