Movie night/sleep over in John's room

Oh what fun the 3 of them had in John's room having a sleep over... another tradition Sal does with the kids.. they all had such a great time.. the movie was Star Wars! LOL

Lunch with a Hero!

Sal and the kids were at lunch in what they call the new monster Frye's and they met a WW2 Veteran from the 8th AF he was a waist gunner in a B17 and his name is Gus and his wife is Rebecca... I spoke with Rebecca and asked if Gus would come in and talk to my students but like many Veterans they do not want to speak about the war... it is just too hard for them... he is 92 and a hero. So, Rebecca and I made plans for all of us to meet up at Frye's for coffee/lunch.. and I can't wait to meet Gus and give him a huge hug and thank him for his service in saving the world during WW2.

Annual Valentine's tradition with Sal and his little love!

Sal has a special tradition with Gia for the past couple years now.... they have a special date for Valentine's Day.... it means the world to both of them... Gia picked out a tie for Sal and she gets all dressed up and excited... this year it was the movies, Claire's, a trip to Nothing But Bundt cakes, then dinner at George and Sons where Gia ordered in Mandarin! Gia also lost her other eye tooth in a crab puff at dinner.... so the tooth fairy visited her that night as well!! What a day they had and I am sure Gia has the wheels turning for next year LOL..

Gia's first sewing machine!

My friend from HS who always sends out little things from Italian Feasts back in NY/NJ decided to send G a sewing machine and as you can see it is pink! He said he was sending a surprise but I did not think it was this!!! It is AMAZING and we can't wait to get started learning how to sew! Hmmmm future fashion designer? LOL

Mandarin Night celebrating the Year of the Dog!!!

We had the best time at Mandarin Night celebrating the Year of the Dog... Gia is really starting to speak more fluently, writing, and reading the Mandarin characters.. it is just crazy... last night she performed with the rest of the students in the Mandarin Program a song and then they had a dragon dance. Afterward, there were crafts and activities.. it was a great night and John will be entering the Mandarin Program next year...already knowing some words from his big Sis!! Gia.. we could not be more proud of you and your performance!! We love you to pieces!
